Day-wise itinerary

D1Jodhpur sightseeing and drive to Jaisalmerexpand_more

Start at 8:00 AM. Mehrangarh Fort (palaces, museum and views of the Blue City), Jaswant Thada and lunch. Then Umaid Bhawan museum. At 3:00 PM drive to Jaisalmer, approx. 280 km, 5 to 6 hours. Arrive around 8:30 to 9:00 PM and check in.

After breakfast see Jaisalmer Fort with its lanes, viewpoints, Raj Mahal, Jain temples and Laxminath Temple, then the havelis: Patwon Ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Manak Chowk. After lunch visit Gadisar Lake. At 3:00 PM drive about 40 to 45 km to Sam Sand Dunes. Check in at the desert camp, then a camel safari, an optional jeep safari and sunset. Evening with folk music, Kalbelia dance, a bonfire and a Rajasthani dinner.

Sunrise at Sam Sand Dunes at 6:00 AM, breakfast at camp and check out at 9:00 AM. Depending on departure time cover Bada Bagh, Vyas Chhatri, handicraft shopping or the Jaisalmer market. Drop at Jaisalmer railway station, airport or onward destination from 11:00 AM.
